Our clients operate in a world where achieving and sustaining performance is more difficult than ever. EYs Life Sciences Consulting Services team assists clients in finding the right balance between protecting the business and driving measurable value.
The opportunity
EY has a robust life sciences commercial practice helping clients with strategic growth business transformation and commercial excellence. This senior role within our Consulting practice will have the opportunity to lead large engagements build solutions lead teams and innovate in the market. Our practice works with large pharma biotechnology l medical device manufacturers and medical technology industries. You will be an integral member of our life sciences consulting team and spend most of your time focused on providing client services in the following areas: business transformation commercial operations commercial data and analytics commercial strategy market access growth strategy operating model optimization technology implementation and enterprise transformation.
Your key responsibilities
A majority of your time will be spent supporting client engagement teams and working with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services in the life sciences domain.
Skills and attributes for success
- Prior experience with R&D and clinical trial design with a focus on patient engagement and recruitment
- Prior experience using EY FastLane as a Gignow resource will be a big plus
- Prior training in the medical sciences either as a field nurse or physician assistant
- Effectively support client engagement teams
- Leading key workstreams as part of large-scale client engagements and consistently delivering high quality deliverables
- Helping Manager and Senior Managers manage risk and helping ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
- Staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the clients business
- Helping foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment by playing an active role in counselling and mentoring staff consultants within the organization
- Starting to develop long-term client relationships and networks.
- Developing relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs
- Remaining current on new developments in the life sciences advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge
To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelors or masters degree in business Biology Pharmacology
- 3 years biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience and experience providing advisory services in these industries focused in at least one of the following areas:
- R&D strategy
- Commercial analytics
- Brand strategy
- Pricing and market access
- Commercial operations model transformation
- Digital campaign management strategy
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical datasets (e.g. pricing databases prescription and claims databases etc.)
- Experience with commercial operations and analytics
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs
- Advisory/consulting experience within life sciences is preferred
Ideally youll also have
- Life science or biomedical background and experience in data analytics and commercial operations

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $97300 to $178300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $116700 to $202600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and addition our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage pension and 401(k) plans and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement project or year.
