Job Description

Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Lab Animal Services Leader (LAS) who is proactive detail-oriented and collaborative with a good knowledge of regulations and national standards relating to the care and use of animals in research to join our Lab Animal Services team based in our BelgiumBraine-Lalleud office.

About the role

As the LAS Leader you will oversee the training of in-vivo scientists manage veterinary pharmacy operations and serve as the system owner for Ticket Lab globally. You will play a key role in ensuring animal welfare regulatory compliance and operational excellence across the lab animal services function.

Who youll work with

Youll work closely with the Head of LAS the Animal Welfare Body and cross-functional stakeholders involved in research compliance and system operations. Youll also support the Ethical Compliance for Animal Experiments (ECAE) coordinator and collaborate with internal and external partners to uphold high standards in animal care and research practices.

What youll do

  • Train research staff in animal techniques and supervise their competence
  • Manage veterinary pharmacy: prescription storage and distribution
  • Oversee Ticket Lab system strategy compliance and training
  • Ensure animal health and welfare follow-up including on-call duties
  • Publish NTS and Retrospective Analysis in the EU Allures database
  • Maintain compliance records and ethical project documentation

Interested For this role were looking for the following

Minimum requirements

  • Doctor in Veterinary Medicine
  • 2-3 years working experience with Vet technical procedures
  • Certificate in Laboratory Animal Science Level C
  • Technical & surgery expertise on rodents
  • Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to be on-call during weekends and holidays
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business necessitates

  • Ability to multi-task and flexible attitude to work
  • Love challenging status quo and acting on the floor
  • Ability to clearly present and convey information to individuals and groups
  • Interact and communicate with all levels in the organization and with external partners
