Job Description:
L3Harris Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Senior Specialist Systems Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City facility.
Position Overview:
The Project Sr. Specialist Systems Engineer will be responsible for the life-cycle support of protected SATCOM data link systems from conceptual development through product phase-out. This includes proposal support requirements analysis and management task planning technical documentation (including generation of Statements of Work and specifications) design oversight participation design synthesis in a multi-functional engineering environment build and test support subcontract control risk management input integration and verification test support system deployment support and in-house technical support during the operational life-cycle of the system.
Essential Functions:
- Experience working with RF lab test equipment including signal generators spectrum analyzers and power meters.
- Experience with modem testing/design
- Experience with network analysis tools such as IXIA and Wireshark.
- Experience designing building testing and optimizing complex electrical systems.
- Provides extensive systems engineering expertise in a broad field of engineering research evaluation and development for highly complex and technical SATCOM airborne and ground products
- Assists in the planning and conducting of technical projects or portions of projects.
- Assists in the capture and/or management of customer and derived requirements decomposition and assignment of requirements to appropriate functional areas of responsibility insuring traceability from a verification test matrix back to original customer and system level derived requirements.
- Provides support to lead engineers in developing technical specifications interface control documents test plans and procedures configuration analysis and processing solutions and test conformance to specifications.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6years of prior relevant (Systems/SATCOM) experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 5years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 10years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in product development a plus (preferably in military application environment).
- Experience with type 1 encryption products and cyber security
- Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual).
- Problem solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Understanding in coordination of project(s) and efforts of technical support personnel.
- Ability to productively contribute work ideas and collaboration as part of a team.
- Active Secret Security Clearance
