Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic QA Engineer to join our dynamic team on contract this role you will be responsible for testing our spatialSUITE products at both the functional and API levels including automation of both API and UI tests.
Responsibilities
- Test Creation Execution & Reporting: Develop Test plans and Test cases. Execute tests analyze results and create reports. Suggest improvements for test coverage and quality.
- Automated Web Service Testing: Create and maintain automated test scripts for APIs to check functionality performance and security.
- GUI Automation: Help develop automated tests for graphical user interfaces (GUIs) when needed.
- Collaboration: Work with developers and QA teams to define testing needs plan strategies and support debugging.
- Improve Test Coverage: Identify new areas for automation to enhance overall test coverage and quality.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in software testing and decent exposure to automation.
- Technical Skills:
- Manual: Strong grasp of SDLC/STLC skilled in writing test cases using bug tracking tools (e.g. JIRA) and performing functional regression and UI testing.
- Automation : Experience with automation tools like Selenium Postman RestAssured or JMeter for web services.
- Programming Skills: Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Java Python JavaScript).
- Web Services Testing: Familiarity with RESTful APIs SOAP and web service testing principles.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within an agile team. Excellent communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with global teams.
Good to have skills
- Experience in testing GIS applications and map based domain
- Certification in any automation tools and/or QA methodologies.
