Job Description

  • Accounts Assistant - Part Time - (20 hours per week)
  • 14250 per annum
  • Torquay - TQ1 1DE
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveAccounts Assistanton a part time basis to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in accounting and finance within a supportive and professional environment. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that all accounting processes are completed efficiently and in line with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with administration centres and branch locations to resolve queries and gather missing information
  • Process internal cheque requisitions and cashbook entries including payments and returned transactions
  • Assist the Management Accountant with monthly reconciliations and reporting
  • Reconcile company bank accounts on a monthly basis
  • Support month-end processes and ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain accurate filing and posting of financial documents
  • Share best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide administrative support to the Accountant and Financial Controller as needed
  • Uphold company standards and act as a positive ambassador at all times
  • Participate in relevant training and development opportunities

What Were Looking For

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity
