We are experiencing technical issues when applying through SEEK if you are interested in this position please apply here you a passionate clinician ready to make a difference in the lives of children young people and foster families MacKillop Family Services is seeking a Therapeutic Specialist to join our Therapeutic Foster Care Program a pivotal role that blends clinical expertise with real world impact.
This is not your average clinical role. Its a chance to bring your therapeutic knowledge into real world practice guiding and shaping the care of some of the most vulnerable children in our community. You will work alongside passionate case managers carer development staff and other clinical specialists to provide trauma-informed consultation intervention and support that empowers carers and uplifts young people.
Every day is different whether you are facilitating reflective practice with care teams supporting secure attachment between carers and children or consulting on complex case planning. What remains constant is the impact you make and the support youll receive as part of our highly skilled and values-driven Clinical Services team.
We are looking for professionals with experience in mental health trauma and child and adolescent development people who understand the weight of responsibility that comes with this work and are driven by a desire to make things better.
This is an ongoing full-time opportunity 38 hours per week based in our Southern Program working out of our South Melbourne Office within our Home Based Care Program.
Key Selection Criteria:
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children young people and their families.
An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology Social Work or a related discipline is essential.
Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a higher degree in psychology at masters level is preferred.
Post Graduate training in relevant child adolescent and family clinical practice family therapy and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.
