STATUS: 01 Full Time - Salaried
NUMBER OF HIRES:1

DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Senior Lead Engineer - SCADA the Engineer-In-Training will gain skills and experience through training and development coaching and mentoring while supporting the SCADA Engineering team on various assignments.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
Develop technical and non-technical skills through completion of assignments.
Investigate and troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.
Update and maintain documentation standards and guidelines.
Prepare technical documents based on required specifications.
Identify areas for process improvements and assist with implementation.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders by providing customer service.
Research and gain understanding in industry standards and practices.
Provide peer reviews as required.
Special projects and other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to resolve issues by analyzing and evaluating possible solutions.
Customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Effective written or verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to interpret technical documents.
Demonstrated ability in technical writing.
Demonstrated intermediate ability in using MS Office applications (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
Knowledge of electrical utility industry.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical/Computer/Communications)
Must be registered as an Engineer-in-Training with APEGA.
Experience with power flow software (CYME) GIS systems MS Office power line design software coding (Python Excel VBA) SAP CRM or other related programs would be an asset.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
A valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers license is required
Travel throughout the province may be required
