Job Description:

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for effectively leading a team of FPGA/VHDL engineers in delivering high-quality solutions for our cryptographic business while meeting organizational goals and standards. The role supports planning research & development and execution of all engineering development tasking on projects pursuits and programs. Responsible for functional requirements of staffing (manpower/resource planning) recruiting training talent development engagement and retention of employees. Proactively collaborates with functional and business leadership teams to support business and program requirements and demands.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the design development and implementation of FPGA and VHDL projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in FPGA architecture VHDL coding simulation and verification.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of FPGA firmware and hardware.
  • Plan schedule and manage FPGA/VHDL projects to ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Implement and maintain design verification and validation processes.
  • Conduct design reviews and oversee testing and debugging activities.
  • Track task level progress identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Supervise mentor and develop a team of electrical engineers specializing in FPGA and VHDL.
  • Conduct performance reviews provide feedback and support professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in FPGA and VHDL technologies and methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes tools and methodologies.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve productivity and design quality.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project demands and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leader with technical managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the FPGA development lifecycle.
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance is a minimum requirement.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 9 years of experience in an engineering development environment; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in leading and managing engineering personnel.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with verification methodologies (e.g. UVM SystemVerilog).

Familiarity with embedded systems and software development for FPGA-based systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role is $125000- $175500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
