Job Description

Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: WPAFB 88th Medical Group 4881 Sugar Maple Drive Wright Patterson AFB OH 45433
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday(Variable shifts betweenup to 2x/week); Monthly TDY travel (1 week)
Qualifications:
  • Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of post-licensure clinical experience preferably in pediatric or developmental settings
  • Skilled in administering developmental assessments such as FEAS CARS and REEL
  • Familiarity with parent-mediated or play-based interventions (e.g. PLAY Project preferred)
  • License/Certification:
  • National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Current unrestricted license to practice Occupational Therapy in any U.S. state or territory
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Certification in the PLAY Project (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters) required within 6 months of hire
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
Responsibilities
  • Conduct developmental evaluations and assessments for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • Administer standardized tools such as FEAS CARS Greenspan Growth Chart and REEL
  • Create individualized occupational therapy intervention plans and document child progress
  • Provide parent coaching and deliver treatment using the PLAY Project methodology
  • Address deficits in motor cognitive social and emotional functioning using therapeutic activities and adaptive tools
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists speech-language pathologists and social workers
  • Communicate findings and recommendations in written reports and video-based feedback
  • Travel monthly for TDY to remote MTF sites to support PLAY service implementation
  • Participating in peer reviews team meetings and ongoing clinical training
