Job Description
SAP Enterprise Warehouse Management (EWM) Functional Consultant
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP EWM Functional Consultant to lead the implementation and optimization of advanced warehouse management solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in warehouse operations supply chain logistics and EWM business processes to drive operational excellence and cost optimization across our distribution and fulfillment operations.
Key Responsibilities
EWM Functional Configuration & Implementation:
- Configure and implement SAP EWM modules including Inbound Processing Outbound Processing Internal Warehouse Processes and Yard Management
- Design warehouse layouts storage types storage sections and bin management strategies
- Configure warehouse process types storage control and movement strategies for optimal space utilization
- Implement slotting optimization pick path optimization and task interleaving for maximum efficiency
- Set up wave management labor management and resource planning for scalable operations
Warehouse Operations Design:
- Design end-to-end warehouse processes from goods receipt to shipping and returns processing
- Implement advanced picking strategies including batch picking zone picking and cluster picking
- Configure cross-docking value-added services and kitting/de-kitting operations
- Design quality management integration for inspection processes and hold management
- Establish exception handling procedures and escalation workflows for operational efficiency
Integration & Business Process Optimization:
- Ensure seamless integration between EWM and other SAP modules (MM SD PP TM QM)
- Configure embedded EWM integration with S/4HANA for real-time inventory and order processing
- Design integration with transportation management for optimized shipping and carrier selection
- Implement supply chain visibility and tracking capabilities across warehouse operations
- Coordinate with external logistics providers and third-party fulfillment partners
Advanced Warehouse Management:
- Configure yard management including dock appointment scheduling and trailer management
- Implement warehouse automation integration for conveyor systems robotics and AS/RS
- Design labor management processes including task assignment performance tracking and incentive programs
- Configure hazardous material handling temperature-controlled storage and compliance processes
- Establish inventory cycle counting physical inventory and stock reconciliation procedures
Analytics & Continuous Improvement:
- Design warehouse KPI dashboards and performance monitoring systems
- Implement warehouse analytics for space utilization productivity analysis and cost optimization
- Configure exception reporting and alert management for proactive issue resolution
- Establish continuous improvement processes and operational excellence initiatives
- Develop capacity planning models and seasonal demand management strategies
