Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Huntington West Virginia
Duration: Full Time/Permanent
Job Description:
This role will be responsible for production operations and will report to the Plant Manager level. Candidates will be reviewed very quickly and phone / video interviews can happen quickly. Ideal candidate will have the following:
1 Manufacturing experience (fast-paced and one requiring flexibility to change is ideal)
2 A high-potential candidate is desired. Someone who has been in a Leadership development program with an employer and rotated around to different roles would be ideal.
2. Someone with an engineering mindset who can look at things from a continuous improvement perspective.
3 Ability to coach and develop supervisors (can be a strong supervisor who is ready now to lead other supervisors someone who has led other department areas such as engineering or CI can also work.
4 A college degree is required
5 3-7 years of experience. They are not looking for candidates who have been at higher levels such as Plant Managers. They want someone who is ready now to lead but who is moldable. If fast tracked and gained the right experience can look at 2-3 year candidates.
6 Must have the ability to form good relationships with the workforce.
7 Must have the ability to communicate and stand their ground cross-functionally when required to make things happen.
8 Lean manufacturing. Six sigma a plus.
The candidate will lead 5-7 Supervisors directly across multiple shifts and approximately 300 indirect in production. Must be ready to take on that type of role. Plant manager can mentor someone in many areas but strong leadership relationship building and communication must be there.
Responsibilities
Mentor and development Supervisors in both soft and hard skills.
Lead and guide production process.
Contribute to production planning and budgeting
Utilize engineering skills and knowledge in problem-solving and continuous improvement projects. Strong focus on continuous improvement quality and training initiatives.
Lean manufacturing projects
Maintain a safe production environment
Work cross-functionally with other Leaders and Engineers at various levels.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required. Engineering field a plus.
3 - 6 years working in a production / manufacturing environment. Ideal roles are Continuous Improvement production supervisor quality and / or engineering roles. Those completing a Leadership rotational program are strongly encouraged to apply.
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Experience leading a team (cross functional teams acceptable showing strong leadership and results).
Improvement project experience with measurable results
