Duties

• Performs daily routine anesthesia and respiratory equipment checks and troubleshoots as required
• Performs essential preventative and corrective maintenance/repairs on anesthesia and respiratory equipment
• Stock operating rooms and remote areas where anesthesia provides services with Anesthesia and respiratory equipment including sensors supplies and cables
• Keeps track of inventory and ordering supplies maintaining adequate stock of anesthesia and respiratory supplies

Qualifications :

• At minimum completion of high school with diploma
• Completion of a recognized post-secondary Electronics Technician program or Medical Device Reprocessing/Medical Device Sterilization Program preferred
• Minimum of 1 year practical and related experience in a health care setting working with respiratory therapy equipment preferred
• Experience with electronic supply ordering system such as EREQ preferred
• Computer proficiency
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation an asset
• Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.) an asset
• Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies procedures guidelines protocols and practices preferred
• Standard First Aid/ Basic Rescuer Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certification an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and collaborate as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
• Ability to perform responsibilities in a courteous manner
• Ability to maintain and protect patient confidentiality
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
