Job Description

The Role:

  • Organising and managing the pastry section to ensure smooth efficient service.
  • Preparing and cooking all pastry items with precision and urgency.
  • Ensuring all products meet established recipes presentation and quality standards.
  • Demonstrating creativity and contributing to the development of innovative pastry recipes.
  • Monitoring daily pastry kitchen requirements and advising the Executive Sous Chef or supervisor in advance.
  • Maintaining strict food safety hygiene and cleanliness standards across all work areas and equipment.
  • Catering for conferences and events including the preparation of items that meet a wide range of dietary requirements.
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of all ingredients in line with current food safety regulations.
  • Supporting and coordinating with the broader kitchen team to meet service demands.
  • Assisting senior kitchen leadership and stepping into supervisory duties when required.
  • Promoting flexibility and collaboration by being familiar with other kitchen sections.

Qualifications :

The Person:

  • Minimum two (2) years commercial cookery and pastry experience in a similar role preferably including 5 star experience.
  • Holds a Level 5 Diploma in Professional Cookery.
  • Has the aptitude and willingness to undertake further development with SO/ and Ennismore.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for the duration of a shift (8 hours).
  • Organise time and work efficiently.
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays due to the business needs
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills. Effective numeracy verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire and ability to train and develop staff.
  • Appreciates and maintains an effective outlet for stress.
  • Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.
