Job Specific Working Conditions:
Ministry Vision:
BUILD AND DEVELOP consistent relationships with high school students middle school students and their families so that every student can be transformed by the hope of Jesus.
HAVE A THRIVING WEEKLY campus club of high school students and a discipleship Campaigners group of by the end of the year. We want to connect and develop our students encouraging and empowering them to go deeper and teach them how to be like Jesus to their peers and in their community.
BRING middle school and high school students to camp
RECRUIT AND MAINTAIN a total of volunteers. Training and equipping them to reach and love students.
IDENTIFY ONBOARD AND EQUIP six committee members to help focus on prayer food for students fundraising finances and leader care.
Essential Duties:
Ministry
Mentors and Other Volunteers
Recruit train mobilize and retain volunteer leaders.
Train volunteers in how to work with teenagers experiencing trauma.
Supervise and evaluate volunteers in leadership development spiritual formation and ministry with teenagers experiencing homelessness incarceration trafficking and/or the foster care system.
Meet regularly with volunteer team for on-going training ministry planning and community building.

Contact work
Create an effective contact work strategy to reach underserved youth.
Be active in all three levels of contact work.
Train and engage team on effective contact work.
Club
Plan and implement regular club meetings with excellence.
Train and engage team in leading club.
Ensure that Young Life ONE health and safety policies are executed.
The ability to textualize club to meet the specific needs of underserved youth.
Understanding the demographics of the youth in your club and ensure cultural awareness and sensitivity. (ie; race gender sexuality etc.)
Campaigners and Discipleship
Create an effective discipleship strategy for underserved youth.
Plan and implement regular campaigner meetings with excellence.
Train and engage team in leading campaigners and the discipleship of vulnerable teenagers.
Ensure that Young Life ONE health and safety policies are executed.
Camp
Plan and implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
Engage and lead the community to help in all aspects of Young Life ONE camping.
Set the example of passionately pursuing vulnerable youth to attend camp.
Highly encourage recruit and train leaders to attend camp.
Create and implement a prayer strategy for camp.
Accept a summer assignment (camp or other assignment).
Committee
Recruit and retain an active Young Life ONE committee.
Regularly communicate and partner with the committee to carry out the work of the area.
Financial Management and Donor Development
Complete and manage the annual budget.
Impart vision for the Young Life ONE ministry to potential donors.
Partner with committee to secure and raise the area budget and oversee the finances.
Raise personal and ministry funds as determined by supervisor.
Implement Taking Donors Seriously (TDS) procedures.
Ensure that all Young Life financial policies and procedures are implemented.
Guarantee all expenses are within the budget.
Administration
Ensure the administrative requirements are handled with excellence and in a timely manner.
Comply with volunteer management procedures concerning all volunteers.
Meet all area requirements as determined by respective regional director.
Community Outreach
Establish church relationships through regular worship and positive ministry interactions with local congregations.
Speak to civic and church groups to promote and publicize Young Life ONE.
Develop relationships with schools teen parenting programs crisis pregnancy centers and other applicable community organizations.
Training and Personal Development
Successfully complete training on how to appropriately work with kids who have experienced trauma.
Participate in Young Life ONE cohort for initial 2 years.
Successful completion of Young Lifes Training Timeline experiences.
Adhere to mission training guidelines for staff.
Attend regional training as directed by the regional director.
Attend Young Life ONE trainings as directed by the Young Life ONE national office.
Pursue continuing education for professional development.
Pursue opportunities for personal development and spiritual maturity.
Working Conditions:
Occasional travel.
Education:
College degree preferred.
Completion of training as determined by supervisor.
Experience Required For The Job:
Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
Teachability with the desire and willingness to learn about this population of youth and from the youth themselves.
Consistency/Longevity by showing up in the lives of kids regularly as it often takes years of commitment for kids to really start to trust leaders.
Even-tempered calm composure with ability to keep emotions in check when working with youth who are prone to volatile emotional and physical reactions.
Ability to clearly communicate the Gospel and train others accordingly.
Ability to clearly communicate Young Lifes mission and the vision for Young Life ONE.
Understand the unique issues faced by teenagers experiencing homelessness incarceration the foster care system and/pr trafficking.
Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Self-motivated.
Goal-oriented.
Proven leadership skills.
Ability to travel as the job requires.
