We are seeking a Strategic Purchaser to join the Mechatronics team. The Strategic Purchaser will lead growth of our supplier portfolio in support of automation technology projects. This role will be focused on search for new suppliers and management of supplier in support of Engineering teams and our product development efforts.
Key job responsibilities
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop purchase requirements and identify potential suppliers.
Actively search for new suppliers and build out a portfolio of suppliers.
Participate in supplier performance & quality management (SPQM) and populate supplier scorecards.
Actively identify improvements cost savings and working capital and process optimizations.
Support commodity managers in building and maintaining supplier relationships.
Identify Supply Chain material risks providing transparent monitoring of materials and escalating supply issues.
Develop and implement mechanisms policies tools measures and dashboards specific to the team and processes.

The Mechatronics team builds full-stack innovation that ensures fulfillment and delivery network safety speed optimization sustainability and value. We tackle big goals for the Amazon business and work hard to make automation history through invention problem-solving and highly-engaged teams. We are a global organization with research and development labs based in Hamme Belgium Boston MA (US) and Milan Italy. Our development portfolio is focused on automation solutions in packaging labeling sortation and material conveyance that provide broad extensibility across Amazon businesses.
At our lab in Hamme Belgium we develop & build game-changing mechatronic solutions that improve the efficiency and sustainability that Customers have come to expect from Amazons retail business.
Bachelors degree or relevant experience
Experience in Supply Chain
Experience with contract management and supplier relationship management
Experience working in a global manufacturing environment sourcing purchasing or managing a wide variety of products and suppliers.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong bias for action.
Highly effective oral and written English communication skills.
Excellent negotiation skills
Willing to travel for business need.
Use of SAP
Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools
Knowledge of international procurement practices
