The Investment Business Analyst is responsible for performing and leading highly complex analysis design and administration of investment information systems as well as managing important data vendor integrations and relationships. The incumbent will plan design implement and administer automated investment information and reporting systems; compile analyze evaluate and report on investment processes and related financial data; and consult with Investments and TRS management on information and reporting needs. This position will proactively work with IMD and TRS management the IMD Investments Data and Systems team IMD staff Information Technology TRS staff and vendors. This position reports to the Head of Investments Data and Systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Relationship Management Project Management and Business Analysis
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with financial data vendors serving as the primary point of contact for data access usage and integration to support the IMDs analysis and reporting needs.
Monitor and evaluate vendor performance against agreed-upon metrics proactively addressing issues and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate the onboarding and integration of new financial data sources ensuring compatibility with internal systems and workflows.
Leads multiple and concurrent automation projects or projects involving specialized knowledge/skills including developing and implementing project plans and coordinating the work of staff assigned to the project.
Establishes functional requirements to solve complex business problems prepares detailed specifications for developers and develops and provides support documentation to business groups and clients.
Coordinates with vendors and TRS staff to implement system changes and updates.
Oversees the business application administration of investments information systems.
Systems Analysis and Reporting
Performs high-level analysis of end user business processes and automation needs and develops application systems or new computer programs and enhancements for existing programs to better meet those needs.
Leads and performs thorough assessments of investment analysis data security and reporting needs including conferring with Investments/TRS management and staff to define scope and deliverables to meet business data and reporting needs.
Leads development and implementation of operating controls and procedures for investment information systems.
Develops new or revises existing data analysis and reporting system techniques models and methodologies.
Compiles analyzes evaluates and reports on investment processes and related financial data.
Support
Responds to requests for assistance routed by Client Services staff and troubleshoots and resolves application-related problems as needed.
Develops and documents technology standards for the IMD.
Provides training and technical assistance to IMD staff.
Provides subject matter expertise to other Business Analysts and Investment users.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Required Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business administration computer science management information systems or a closely related field.
High school diploma or equivalent and additional full-time experience in financial analysis and reporting investment operations and reporting systems analysis or related experience may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.
Required Experience
Three (3) years of full-time directly related progressively responsible experience in vendor relationship management business analysis systems analysis financial reporting or related experience (Sr Analyst).
Four (4) years of full-time directly related progressively responsible experience in vendor relationship management business analysis systems analysis financial reporting or related (Associate).
Experience utilizing Agile methodologies.
Experience may be concurrent.

Preferred Qualifications
1-2 years of full-time directly related progressively responsible experience with investment management systems or operations SQL Microsoft Excel Power BI Project and SharePoint.
Experience with investment data process improvement.
Graduate degree in business administration finance or a related field.
Knowledge of:
Global securities financial accounting and investment concepts and terminology.
Skill in:
Manage strong relationships with financial data vendors to ensure data accuracy timely delivery
and alignment with business objectives enabling effective cross-functional collaboration in support of analytics reporting and strategic decision-making.
Application access and user provisioning management including familiarity with role-based access controls and system administration best practices
Understanding of data integration workflows particularly involving third-party financial data vendors and internal systems.
Collaboration across technical and business teams with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
Analyzing problems and devising effective solutions.
Business process management and improvement.
Negotiation and consensus building.
Effective verbal and written communication of complex and technical information to people of varying technical backgrounds including skill in presenting analysis and recommendations.
