The General Manager Operations is responsible for the overall administration and efficient operation of Liebherr USA MCC Foundation Equipment Rental Fleet. The Manager provides a superior level of service and exceeds all departmental goals. The individual promotes the Liebherr culture through coaching guidance and staff motivation to help achieve individual and departmental goals and provides leadership training and supervision in alignment with divisional targets. Detailed focus on the procurement and distribution of various production and spare parts components and other products or other related services as required to support the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the efficient operations organization and proper working conditions of necessary equipment and attachments
- Focuses on organizational topics and builds team to achieve the overall LUS-MCC strategic goals
- Responsible for the management of Liebherr MCC Rental Fleet capital assets auditing and inventorying along with Liebherr LIN guidelines.
- Responsible for developing and managing incoming and outgoing inspection of equipment
- Develops proposal for customer required repairs to returned equipment
- Presents proposal(s) for required repairs to customer and secures customer approval.
- Organizes with support of service group necessary machine repairs
- Supports development of training for internal and external customers
- Ensures Liebherr MCC personnel are well trained and develops a matrix to monitor training progress.
- Supervises and maintains an accurate up-to-date inventory management and control system for Equipment Rental Inventory and attachments
- Manages processes of inspecting analyzing and readying rental equipment for the market
- Becomes familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for management.
- Provides superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Handles complaints reasonably showing empathy and a positive attitude.
- Develops all expense controls and ensures they are adhered to by all departments.
- Improves process quality to drive optimum cost performance.
- Promotes safety in work processes and associate performance by supporting 6S initiatives and/or facility programs educating associates and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Supervisory Duties:
- Manages 3() employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Competencies
- Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in a related field (i.e. Business Engineering Supply Chain Material Management) with 5 years of progressive experience in product support and distribution including 2 years materials and/or manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of operational management principles theories and processes.
- Detail orientated analytical and inquisitive.
- Knowledge of deep foundation machinery deep foundation tooling and deep foundation applications.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge with customs import/export of parts from/to Europe and US.
- Knowledge of transportation logistics.
- Knowledge of Outlook Contact Management systems; Access Database software; Explorer Internet software; BaaN for Order Processing Inventory Manufacturing and Cost
- Calculation system or equivalent ERP system; Lisa II and Inventory Management tools; Project Management software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages fractions ratios to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret common scientific and technical documents and specifications financial reports and legal documents.
- Skilled in using logic and reason to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists within a fast-changing environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license and passport.
