Position Description

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seekinganexperienced TLTSolid Waste Business Operational Technology SpecialisttoassessSolid Waste Operational Technology(OT) systems for reliability and supportability. This positionwillpartner withTransfer Stationstaff andthe OT Project Teamtoimprove the reliability of these systems and to ensure that all these systems aremaintainedand have supportplansin place.

As aSolid Waste Business Operational Technology Specialist you willwork on the project team to assess the state of everycomponentofTransfer StationOTsystemsand create a plan for recommendedchanges to improve system reliability. These analyses will include troubleshooting to uncover the root cause of past and current issues and failures. This candidate will also assess how each system ismaintainedand supported and will ensure support exists going forward.

This Term Limited Temporary (TLT) opportunity is expected to last nearly 3-yearsand is a fully benefitted temporary assignment.

The full salary range for this position is $52.63 per hour - $79.00 per hour.


Workplace Environment/Expectation:
  • These TLTSolid Waste Business Operational Technology Specialistswork on-site five (5) days per week
  • These positions will have an on-call responsibility at night for the South Transfer Station. Since the station is not staffed but is open for commercial traffic 24X7 they will be expected to support either virtually or on-siteas required.

This hiring process involves a background check of conviction and arrest records in compliance with Seattles Fair Chance Employment Ordinance SMC 14.17. Applicants will be provided with an opportunity to explain or correct background information.
