How to be Successful in this Role:
We are looking for
an experienced deputy prosecutorwith significant expertise intort litigation. This position is responsible for high-level work in the legal field as assistant to the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney acting as a legal representative of Pierce County. An attorney in this classification exercises independent judgment initiative and resourcefulness in adapting laws policies and precedents to complex situations or to advise regarding a proper course of action. The employee will have demonstrated exceptional qualities in mentoring and motivating staff to assist individual employees in realizing their fullest potential with a view to accomplishing the Prosecutors role in serving the community and focusing individuals on how we best serve the public. Duties are performed with professional discretion and within office guidelines professional ethics and standards and legal requirements. The ability to handle high volume caseload work under pressure with tight timelines is essential and the ability to collaborate with clients and colleagues in a collaborative work environment.

Core Daily Responsibilities:


This classification is distinguished from the County Attorney 3 classification by being predominantly assigned to the most complex civil tort cases. This classification may also have supervisory responsibility for a unit in the departments Civil Division and may be requested to assist in formulating policy for the department and providing recommendations on personnel issues. Qualifications


Preferred Requirements:
  • Experiencein civil torts litigation.

Special Requirements and/or Qualifications:
  • Ability to successfully complete Pierce County background investigation.
  • A valid Washington State drivers license is required
