The Office Assistant staffs the front desk providing excellent customer service for the Parks and Recreation Department. This position assists walk-in customers responds to emails answers phone and routes inquiries. This position performs a variety of public services accounting and administrative duties including but not limited to collecting payments making reservations registering the public for programs and activities issuing permits and providing information to the public. Additionally support will be provided for the volunteer program and daily financial reports as well as providing other general department support.
The incumbent must always reflect a professional and courteous demeanor. Other duties include assisting with resource scheduling data research work order processing departmental purchasing compiling information for staff reports maintaining records and assisting with special projects as assigned. Work is performed with general supervision and incumbent must be able to independently carry out assigned duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Education Training and Experience Guidelines
Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. G.E.D.); Bachelors degree in Business Administration Public Administration recreation or related field is preferred.
Experience:Two (2) years of related experience and/or training.
Or: Any combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the desired skills knowledge and ability required to perform the job may be substituted for these qualifications. Examples of these skills may include the following:
