Senior Manager Patient Advocacy Rare Disease
Lets do this vital role you will drive patient advocacy efforts focused on uncontrolled gout. Reporting to the Director Advocacy Relations you will help activate and maintain the U.S. patient advocacy strategy for uncontrolled gout. This includes maintaining and extending relationships with key patient advocacy groups forging new alliances and ensuring alignment with the broader Gout business units objectives. They will ensure that strategy and approach lines up to the overarching commercial strategy.
You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative advocacy team that works across therapeutic areas geographies and initiatives. Your mission is to amplify the patient voice co-create meaningful solutions and ensure that the real-world needs of people living with uncontrolled gout are represented in strategic decision-making.
Serve as a key contributor to Amgens U.S. Advocacy strategy and execution for uncontrolled Gout including strategic programming awareness month activations patient events and national and/or local engagement opportunities with the advocacy community.
Serves as primary relationship manager to gout related patient groups cultivating high-trust compliant partnerships based on shared goals in awareness education and access.
Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure advocacy organization insights inform medical commercial development and policy strategies for Gout/rare disease.
Represents Amgen in relevant coalitions and forums to elevate the Gout communitys voice and needs.
Drives high-quality initiatives and shared goals to empower Gout patients to take a more active role in treatment decision-making with their HCPs.
Proactively identify emerging trends issues and community needs related to uncontrolled gout and formulate timely collaborative responses.
Support awareness education and empowerment efforts across the patient and caregiver communities.
Represent the patient perspective internally especially during cross-functional planning with R&D Medical Affairs Commercial Communications Legal Market Access and Government/Public Affairs.
Champion inclusion equity and diversity of thought in all advocacy strategies.
Create and execute collaboration plans with advocacy groups on mutually aligned goals including public health and clinical education campaigns.
Organize patient feedback mechanisms to ensure ongoing alignment with advocacy and overall business priorities.
Travel up to 40% as needed to engage in internal meetings advocacy meetings and conferences.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in patient advocacy consumer marketing communications government affairs or public health
OR Masters degree and 4 years of relevant experience in patient advocacy consumer marketing communications government affairs or public health
OR Bachelors degree and 6 years of relevant experience in patient advocacy consumer marketing communications government affairs or public health
OR Associates degree and 10 years of relevant experience in patient advocacy consumer marketing communications government affairs or public health
OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of relevant experience in patient advocacy consumer marketing communications government affairs or public health
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in rheumatology and/or nephrology ideally in relation to chronic or inflammatory diseases.
Experience developing and leading patient advocacy programs in patient communities with high unmet need and a complex diagnostic journey.
Prior experience in the pharmaceutical biotech CRO or research sectors.
Track record of scaling strategic advocacy engagement for a late-stage commercial product.
Previous experience of working in a disease state with evolving landscape of evolving therapeutic options.
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across internal and external partners.
Strong project management interpersonal and communication skills.
A strategic solutions-focused mindset with a collaborative and inclusive work style.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to relevant skills experience and qualifications.
