Abatement Worker Eco Safe Abatement (Portland Oregon)
Location: Portland Oregon
Employment Type: Full-Time
- Safely remove and dispose of hazardous materials (asbestos lead mold etc.) from buildings and structures in compliance with OSHA EPA and local regulations
- Prepare work areas by setting up containment barriers ventilation and decontamination units
- Use hand and power tools for material removal and site preparation
- Package and label hazardous waste for transport and disposal.
- Maintain accurate documentation of abatement processes and waste disposal.
- Clean and decontaminate work sites tools and equipment using HEPA vacuums and approved methods
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators for extended periods
- Communicate effectively with supervisors safety managers and project managers to ensure project goals and safety standards are met
- Perform occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and other physically demanding tasks
- Adhere to all company policies safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Valid Worker or Supervisor Certification for asbestos abatement in accordance with Oregon state and federal regulations
- Minimum 1 year of experience in abatement (asbestos lead or mold removal)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in construction or environmental remediation preferred
- Ability to wear PPE and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail communication skills and commitment to safety.
- Additional certifications in hazardous materials handling (e.g. OSHA lead safety HAZWOPER)6.
- Experience with air monitoring and environmental compliance reporting1.
- Familiarity with a variety of abatement projects (residential commercial industrial)1.
