Job Description

Concordia University is a Lutheran higher education community committed to helping students develop in mind body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world.

Position Description

The purpose of this position is to fulfill the universitys mission to help students develop in mind body and spirit by instructing student athletes equipping them with strategies and techniques to help them realize success in athletics academics and social experiences. This position is responsible for the following: the organization coordination supervision and implementation of the assigned sports communication program.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • May initiate schedule coordinate and conduct interviews and statistic gathering/reporting
  • Demonstrate Christian concern for athletes academic athletic social and spiritual development
  • May supervise student assistants
  • Coordinate with the Director of Athletics and Director of Sports Communication in game management of home and away contests
  • Manage expenditures within the parameters of an approved budget
  • Abide by and enforce NCAA Division III rules
  • Abide by and enforce North Athletics Collegiate Conference rules and regulations (NACC)
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • 3-5 years of Sports Communication experience -- college or university preferred or closely related work or specific experience skill set and/or training in field
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills
  • Professional communication skills including public speaking
  • Knowledge of trends in sport communication
  • Knowledge of related technology
  • Travel and overnight travel required. Travel with teams to contests practices and pre/post season competition
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree required or specific experience skill set and/or training in area
  • Masters Degree preferred

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time exempt (salary) staff position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia University benefit options include but are not limited to the following:
