The successful candidate for this position will have a minimum of two (2) recent years experience performing professional level payroll processing and be able to quickly demonstrate knowledge and skill in the following areas:
Experience with PeopleSoft or other HR Information System/Payroll software
Strong attention to detail with demonstrated analytical problem solving and research skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize prioritize and manage a demanding workload consistently meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to effectively and positively work within a team environment and maintain professionalism in all situations
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion
Proven ability to follow oral and written instructions
Demonstrated ability to maintain regular reliable and timely attendance
Intermediate proficiency skill level with Microsoft Office 365 Excel word and Outlook
Exceptional communication and customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing
Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematics
Experience processing payroll for 200 or more employee
Payroll processing for a workforce with multiple unions and 24/7 schedules
Knowledge of payroll compliance laws including FLSA FMLA Washington Paid Family Medical Leave and Washington Paid Medical Leave
Public Safety experience preferred

WORK LOCATION/SCHEDULE: Work location is the King County Courthouse 513 3rd Avenue Room E-245 Seattle WA 98004. M-F schedule 40 hours per week. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Schedule assignments are subject to the staffing needs of the department and bargaining unit bidding process as applicable.
