Position Summary:
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Clery Compliance Coordinator to support the universitys compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act). Reporting to the Clery Compliance Administrator and as part of the Integrity and Compliance Office this position plays a critical role in assisting the Clery Compliance Administrator in administering the Clery Act compliance program for all VCU campuses while ensuring transparency collaboration policy development training and reporting related to campus security and fire safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Clery Compliance Administrator with the development and administration of the Clery compliance program.
Assist in the planning developing and implementing comprehensive and ongoing policies andprocedures.
Assist in the preparation publication and distribution of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report(ASFSR) in compliance with federal regulations.
Collaborate with VCU Police and other campus stakeholders to maintain and update the daily crime andfire logs.
Collaborate with departments across the university including administrators on the various campusesVCU Police Student Affairs Human Resources and Housing to ensure accurate and timely reportingcrime classification reconciliation and data integrity.
Assist in the collection classification and submission of crime and disciplinary referral data from variousinternal and external sources including law enforcement agencies and campus security authorities(CSAs).
Assist in the development review and implementation of the institutions Clery Compliance policy andother institution policies related to the Clery Act.
Develop and deliver training programs for CSAs and other stakeholders on Clery Act requirements.
Collaborate with appropriate offices to ensure compliance with the Drug Free Schools and CommunitiesAct.
Stays abreast of pending and final changes to the Clery Act and other laws or regulations affecting CleryAct provisions and recommend policy or procedural updates as needed.
Support internal audits and external reviews related to Clery compliance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance efforts.
Serve as a member of the Integrity and Compliance Office (ICO) team and contribute as needed to theoverall success of the ICO.
Other duties as assigned by the Clery Compliance Administrator and/or the Chief Ethics and ComplianceOfficer.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Public Administration Higher Education Administration Communication or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in compliance law enforcement higher education administration or arelated area.
Knowledge of the Clery Act and related federal regulations.
Strong analytical organizational communication. and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalismand civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related field.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Clery Compliance Officer (CCO) certification or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Familiarity with Title IX VAWA Stop Campus Hazing Act FERPA and other relevant federal regulations.
