POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager Revenue and Access Applications works under the direction of the Director Software Services. This Manager is responsible for carrying out assignments in a manner to assure success in financial management human resources management leadership quality and operational management objectives. The Manager participates in program development and unit performance improvement. They manage the IS resources having primary responsibility for the EPIC Resolute Billing Charge Router Cadence Scheduling ADT and HIM modules. They provide guidance to their staff in the area of Project Management. They coordinate with the Project Management team on projects as necessary. They coordinate with other departments such as Patient Financial Services HIM Admitting and vendors as appropriate to assure the integration and orderly transition of new applications and upgrades of existing systems. Ensures understanding and compliance with all adopted standards and procedures of Project Management and overall IT best practices. Constantly challenges their staff and customers alike to identify opportunities for improvements to existing workflows that may be impacted through the introduction of technology. Actively participates in the formulation of IS strategies for business process improvements systems performance improvements and system functions that may be required for regulatory compliance. Recommends and develops for approval; policies procedures and standards relative to information management and systems. Cultivates a customer-focused methodology while collaborating closely with other IS management staff and customers. The Manager consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.

The Manager:

  • Participates in the development and management of department budgets and productivity targets.
  • Manages human resources utilization promotes employee satisfaction supports staff development and utilizes the progressive discipline process when appropriate.
  • Leads employees supports organizational goals and decisions implements necessary changes and participates in strategic planning for service needs and resource utilization.
  • Maintains and promotes quality service and best practice.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes and assures implementation of regulatory standards.
  • Continually evaluates departmental function and the delivery of service.
  • Keeps CIO and administration informed regarding level of care/service being provided and level of patient employee and physician satisfaction.
  • In conjunction with CIO translates knowledge of professional and regulatory standards to policies practices and procedures and maintains for current changes.
  • Researches interdepartmental problems/issues and takes corrective action in timely manner and promotes respectful responsive communication between departments to promote patient centered care.
  • Supervises staff in service areas. Guides staff in the adherence to applicable standards of care / practice and/or departmental / organizational expectations.
  • Acts as a resource to other departments for education and information in area of expertise.
  • Manages the IS resources having primary responsibility for EPIC Resolute Cadence Scheduling ADT Charge Router and HIM modules.
  • Plans and coordinates within IS other departments and vendors as appropriate to assure the integration and orderly transition of new applications and upgrades of existing systems.
  • Assures understanding and compliance with all adopted standards and procedures of Project Management.
  • Constantly challenges IS and customers alike to identify opportunities for improvements to existing workflows that may be impacted through the introduction of technology.
  • Participates in the formulation of IS strategies for business process improvements systems performance improvements or system functions that may be required for regulatory compliance.
  • Recommends and develops for approval; policies procedures and standards relative to information management and systems.
  • Prepares frequent communications to keep the organization appraised on the status of projects issues and to advance customer understanding of IS strategies and system capabilities.
  • Cultivates a customer-focused methodology while collaborating closely with other IS management staff and customers.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Information Services Finance or other related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Three years of related experience

Desired:

  • Five years experience in information services in a hospital environment
  • Three years supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with EPIC specifically Resolute Billing Charge Router Cadence Scheduling

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of hospital focused software applications and the operation of a Hospital Information Services organization is required. Ability to understand and to express technical concepts in lay terminology. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes is necessary as well as the ability to successfully integrate these into practice for the assigned unit Must have knowledge of or ability to learn financial management and reporting quality improvement processes and human resources management. Conflict management skills necessary to resolve conflict within and among departments and disciplines throughout the organization and with physicians. Change management skills necessary to lead projects that will result in significant changes to work flow process for associates physicians and physicians office staffs. Must be able to effectively monitor evaluate and administer the resources of their assigned area and make substantiated recommendations regarding resource allocation needs for future planning purposes. Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally both one-on-one and in groups. Must have the ability to lead motivate delegate analyze information and problem solve. Must demonstrate technical competence professional judgment. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Must have the ability to utilize a problem-solution approach in the analysis of complex information systems issue and to exercise independent judgment and discretion in defining system problems and their resolutions. Must be able to manage a complex and varied work environment: multiple complex projects in great detail handle interruptions manage and negotiate competing expectations and commitments among multiple hospital departments and physicians.
