Job Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Design develop and update data-driven visuals for ETP publications presentations and internal and external communications.
  • Collaborate with ETP colleagues to create compelling insightful visualizations of data and analytical findings.
  • Work with the IEAs Communications and Digital Office to publish ETP visualizations across multiple platforms including PDFs web pages social media videos PowerPoint presentations and print.
  • Research and experiment with emerging data visualization tools techniques and best practices.
  • Coordinate usability testing of visualization outputs and propose enhancements.
  • Support general graphic design needs for publications the website and other platforms as required.
  • Participate in the OECD community of practice on data visualization to stay current on initiatives tools and standards.

Qualifications :

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is preferred. This may include fields related to data and analytics (such as data science statistics or programming) design and visual communication (such as graphic design information design) or interdisciplinary areas that combine technical and visual expertise such as data visualization data journalism or technical communication

Professional Background

  • At least three years of experience in data visualization working for the public private or academic sectors.
  • A strong portfolio of projects turning data including very large datasets into insightful visuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple data design projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated creativity in storytelling through presentations helping diverse audiences understand and connect with data-driven insights.
  • A proven ability to work in a dynamic international and multi-lingual environment.
  • A demonstrated interest in energy and environmental topics or other relevant fields.

Tools

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; experience with Photoshop InDesign or other Adobe Creative Cloud tools is a strong advantage.
  • Solid foundation in graphic design principles typography and data storytelling.
  • Experience designing static visualizations dashboards and infographics using Adobe products.
  • Familiarity with interactive visualization libraries (e.g. Highcharts) is a plus.
  • Competence in data analysis and insight extraction from large datasets using statistical tools.
  • Ability to work with data formats such as CSV and JSON.
  • Knowledge of GIS mapping software is an advantage.
  • Basic proficiency in HTML and CSS.

Contract Duration

  • Two-year fixed term appointment with the possibility of renewal.
