Job Description

AECOM Buildings Places AECOMs Architectural business is seeking an Architect to join our team. This position will be based out of our Winnipeg offices with remote/hybrid work options permitted.

AECOM Buildings Places Canada (BP Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture all the buildings engineering disciplines landscape architecture urban planning urban design economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge
  • Document review and inter-disciplinary coordination
  • Develop or assist in the development of studies programs concepts preliminary and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale
  • Prepare review and approve drawing specification and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentations documents to technical documents for building permit tender and construction
  • Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes standards and applicable regulations
  • Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes design and quality standards
  • Lead project coordination with multi-disciplinary teams both internal to AECOM and external
  • Interface with clients authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project
  • Work with AECOM design offices across the country including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects
  • Knowledge of building systems and coordination of building systems design
  • Checks own work and the work of others
  • Knowledge and familiarity with building codes
  • Team player with the ability to work within a team environment
  • Experience in field review and contract administration

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position candidates must possess at a very minimum: 

  • No less than a University Degree in Architecture Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Architect with the MAA.
