ATTENTION ALL ALASKA RESIDENTS!


The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways and Aviation is looking for a Maintenance Specialist Traffic Cntrl & Elec. Sys Lead Journey 2 to help us

Keep Alaska Moving!



What you will be doing:

  • Repair and maintain electronic traffic control equipment signal systems and highway illumination systems for public safety.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on traffic control systems using diagnostic tools and hand tools including controller modifications.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot highway illumination systems including lighting fixtures wiring and poles up to 150 feet tall.
  • Service traffic signal lamps lenses signal compartments pedestrian heads and wiring components.
  • Maintain school flasher systems including controllers timers lamps and wiring.
  • Service emergency vehicle (OPTICOM) systems including phase selectors detectors wiring and intersection signaling.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic/electrical equipment in the shop with diagnostic meters and testers.
  • Collaborate with design and construction teams on traffic counting and vehicle detection equipment.
  • Test and ensure proper functionality of new traffic signal controller cabinets and maintain airport lighting systems.
