Class Summary



Job Description
The IT Systems Supervisor will for coordinate and lead incident response efforts to ensure timely containment investigation and recovery. Maintain and continuously improve incident response plans playbooks automation and procedures. This position will also supervise train and mentor incident response team members to ensure operational excellence.


Essential Duties
  • Communicate incident status and impact to leadership and stakeholders and oversee post-incident reporting
  • Research and understand cybersecurity threats threat actors trends in adversary activities attack vectors and Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP) and use this knowledge to proactively search for threats in the County environment
  • Use threat modelling and attack frameworks to develop advanced detection mechanisms for a variety of security tools and technologies to identify detect and respond to malicious activity
  • Leverage intelligence derived from threat hunting to improve overall security operations tool visibility threat awareness and detection and response
  • Continually build automation and tooling capabilities for the deployment and management of our internal security services
  • Contribute to the development of advanced threat actor profiles unique to Gwinnet County and based upon analysis of acquired malware samples
  • Ability to communicate to technical and management levels
  • Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources providing key analytics
  • Document findings in an easy-to-read format
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities necessary
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories and fingerprinting.
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
  • This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.
Grade
The grade for this position is 107. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in a Computer science Information Systems Auditing Management Cybersecurity or related fieldAND
  • Seven years of progressively responsible programming and systems experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Certifications in CompTIA Security OSCP CompTIA CySA GCIH
