  • Salary range: $62500-$71875 per year commensurate with experience

Who You Are

The Staff Accountant II will work in partnership with the Director of Accounting Director of Revenue Cycle Management and CFO to provide analysis and accounting support. This position is responsible for performing the accounting and financial functions required for planning controlling and reporting of the financial operations of Healthy Alliance and providers. Key responsibilities encompass the month-end and year-end financial closing processes supporting strategic initiatives and managing long-term financial goals. Additionally the position plays a vital role in aligning financial operations with the organizations strategic direction.

What Youll Do

  • Maintain provider Quarterly Cost Reports.
  • Complete bi-weekly internal and external actual vs. budget unit KPI/analytics reports.
  • Track and communicate monthly partner financial performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and reconcile Unite US invoice files ingested into Millin RCM vs. Millin RCM billing processed to Medicaid Fee-for-Service (FFS) and Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
  • Provide back-up support to the Senior Accountant in reviewing and reconciling per member per month (PMPM) payments in Millin the data factory/Power BI and bank deposit amounts.
  • Maintain internal accounting practices/procedures and internal controls designed to safeguard the assets of the organization and verify the integrity of financial information.
  • Ensure complete and accurate vendor/provider files.
  • Assist with general ledger maintenance including preparation of journal entries and financial reports for month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain monthly and annual account work papers and coordinate auditing with external financial auditors.
  • Assist with development of annual budget and spending plans.
  • Participate in development of the organizations financial plans and programs.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries; develop financial analytics/reports as requested.
  • Advises upper management and makes recommendations on internal control improvements.
  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are met.
  • Meet with stakeholders to streamline communication and add transparency regarding project issues and decisions on services.
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Requirements

What Youll Need


Education

  • Bachelors degree in accounting business finance or related field required. Masters degree preferred. Equivalent work experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

Professional Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field required. Experience with related-entity transactions and NetSuite preferred.
  • Non-profit industry background preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook etc.).
  • Outstanding communicator with strong oral and written skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Perform all work in accordance with Healthy Alliance core competencies and values.
