POSITION TITLE: Child Nutrition Director/Food Service Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degreein food and nutrition food service management dietetics family and consumer sciences nutrition education culinary arts business or a related field
- Two years relevant school nutrition program experience
- Certification or ability to be certified by the Arkansas Department of Education Child Nutrition Division
- Experience in purchasing management supervision and inventory preferred
- Computer record keeping and communication skills
- Ability to direct the total food service operation of the school district
- Knowledge of large quantity meal preparation menu planning and completing state federal and local reports
CONTRACT: 240 days
JOB GOAL:
The child nutrition director is responsible for the preparation and serving of all child nutrition director manages the food service production and delivery system including purchase and inventory of food and child nutrition director will insure conformance with food quality nutrition and productivity child nutrition director will train manage and supervise food service staff practice time management techniques and insure the highest possible customer satisfaction.
REPORTS TO:Assistant Superintendent for District Operations and Chief Financial Officer
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salarybased on Siloam Springs School District salary schedule for the position of Food Service Director with benefits as outlined in personnel policies
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Direct the expenditure of the food service budget
- Ensure that food service program operates within established budgetary guidelines
- Assign direct and supervise building managers and food service employees
- Oversee the hiring evaluation transfer promotion demotion and dismissal of food service employees
- Coordinate monthly payroll process for food service employees
- Forecast daily production needs
- Manage all aspects of the USDA commodity program
- Order and receive all foods supplies and small wares for maintaining operations
- Follow proper receiving storage delivery and preparation techniques to insure that all food items are maintained at a high quality until consumed
- Perform monthly inventories and management functions
- Manage and submit monthly federal reimbursement claim report
- Plan implement and review all breakfast and lunch menus
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in all kitchens
- Oversee all food preparation portioning holding service and storage of leftovers.
- Oversee and coordinate the Seamless Summer Meal Program.
- Supervise the maintenance of student meal accounts and communicate with parents guardians or school district personnel as necessary regarding account issues.
- Prepare all local and state reports as directed or required and enforce all program requirements as set forth in the National School Lunch Program
- Oversee all aspects of the application process for free and reduced meals
- Represent the food service program on the district wellness committee
- Interact with staff students faculty visitors and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Provide staff training and on-going input on job performance.
- Seek out and attend professional development opportunities in the field of child nutrition and school food service.

- Ability to occasionally push/pull items such as tables or bulk food carts
