Job Description

The Staff Engagement Specialist designs and implements strategies and processes to improve employee engagement satisfaction and commitment to MWVCAA. This role is responsible for collecting data identifying and implementing best work culture practices such as recognition rewards wellness mentorship training and development and feedback systems. The Staff Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing effective measures and programming to enhance retention across the organization in collaboration with HR Team management and staff committees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree plus four or more years of work experience in Human Resources Organizational Development and/or Workforce Development or another acceptable related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Valid SHRM or HRCI Certification may substitute for a Bachelors Degree.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATION

  • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.
  • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
  • Successful registration with the State of Oregon Child Care Division criminal background registry prior to employment.
  • Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Intermediate proficiencies in computers including MS Office (Outlook Word Teams Excel) are required.
  • Knowledge and experience in online training platforms.
  • Experience and knowledge with data analytics or workforce analytics.
  • Experience and competencies in presenting to groups in person and with online meeting platforms.
  • Ability to work efficiently with demonstrated organizational and project management skills.

    There are no supervisory duties in this position.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus; hearing abilities required.
    • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment documents and phone.
    • Frequent sitting. Occasional standing. May require frequent online conferencing with management and staff.
    • Frequent mobility within the office and between agency sites required.
    • Occasional driving may be required.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    • Indoor office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
    • Working with coworkers/clients over the phone via video conferencing and in-person.
    • Occasional noise and distractions in shared workspaces.
    • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines may be necessary
