About the role
As an Application Solutions Architect you will provide specialist applications environment knowledge and contribute to the successful delivery of technology projects through high quality solution designs and estimates that align with ABC strategy and objectives.
Under broad direction of the Manager Enterprise Applications and in relation to the ABCs corporate application environment:
- Contribute significantly to the design planning and delivery of projects within the enterprise application domain.
- Prepare high-level solution designs and estimates with input from architects SMEs and vendors as required.
- Undertake research and prepare sound recommendations for particularly complex technology solutions.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand and analyse business needs and provide expert advice and designs to ensure requirements and service levels are met.
- Contribute significantly to the evaluation and selection of new technology products that align with the ABCs enterprise architecture and technology standards.
- Provide guidance and technical mentoring to colleagues to build and maintain a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Collaborate with implementation and support teams to:
- Provide technical leadership on particularly complex/highly specialised projects.
- Ensure the solutions are implemented and maintained in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
About you:
- Substantial knowledge and experience in application solution design and estimates in a large-scale complex IT environment involving on-premise cloud and SaaS systems.
- Extensive experience and ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders including business users to understand needs and constraints project managers and business analysts technical developers and engineers and vendors to understand and advise on system capabilities technical architectures and security controls.
- Outstanding research analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate analyse diagnose and solve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to understand business needs and explain complex technical issues to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to independently manage your own workload within agreed timeframes across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated significant technical leadership skills with the ability to train mentor and guide colleagues.
Additionally we would like you to have demonstrated experience and thorough working knowledge in the following areas:
- Complex system design utilising Microsoft technologies AWS cloud services and Middleware platforms including MuleSoft
- Systems development lifecycle and project management methodologies
- Application security best practices and standards
- Integration patterns and interface standards
- Data migration and management.

About ABC Product & Technology:
The Product & Technology (P&T) division is responsible for delivering the technology and services that enable the ABC to fulfil its creative strategic and business goals. The scope of activities and responsibilities of the P&T division range from keeping ABC programs and services on-air and on-line to delivering on key projects as well as assisting in setting the technology strategy and architecture for the ABC.
