Senior Data Engineer
CepheidLocation Sunnyvale California United States of America
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing optimized data engineering solutions for a central data science platform.
This position reports to the Sr. Staff Data Engineer and is part of the Data Science and Digital Solutions team located in Sunnyvale CA and will be an on-site role
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Build highly performing data pipelines for real-time data analysis workflows.
- Perform technical troubleshooting across the technology stack (frontend backend database and API) assist in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks improving loading times and optimizing user experiences.
- Document and develop comprehensive test suites to validate that the systems design meets performance benchmarks and aligns with application requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to improve data models and applications improving data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and develop architectural or application changes to enhance the performance scalability and maintainability of existing data ecosystem.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelors degree in software engineering computer science or a similar field with 5 years of related work experience OR Masters degree with 3 years of related work experience.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade applications.
- Strong programming fundamentals using Python and familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as .
- Experience with cloud and data technologies such as AWS and Docker.
- Experience using modern automated test frameworks and CI/CD tooling.

The annual salary range for this role is $145000 $170000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
