Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Swindon to assist with the appointment of a Experienced Social Worker - Family Safeguarding Service on a 3 month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 35.27- 46.32 per hour

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Worker to join the local authorities dynamic Family Safeguarding Service. This crucial role involves working directly with children young people and their families where there are significant safeguarding concerns ensuring their safety and promoting their position requires a commitment to multi-agency collaboration robust analytical skills and a child-centred approach to practice contributing to the Councils vision of providing excellent services to its community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied and complex caseload of children and families subject to child protection plans pre-proceedings and care proceedings ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Undertake comprehensive and analytical assessments of need and risk for children and families including Child and Family Assessments and contribute to the development implementation and review of robust child protection plans.
  • Identify assess and manage risks to children and young people escalating concerns appropriately and ensuring that safeguarding duties are met.
  • Maintain accurate concise and up-to-date electronic case records ensuring all statutory and organisational requirements are met. Produce clear analytical and evidence-based reports for various purposes.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation statutory guidance Swindon Borough Council policies and professional standards set by Social Work England.

Qualification:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree in Social Work DipSW CQSW CSS).
  • Current registration with Social Work England is essential. (Please note: HCPC is no longer the regulatory body for social workers in England).


Experience:

  • Significant post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker within a childrens safeguarding child protection or looked after childrens team within a local authority setting.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex and high-risk caseloads including child protection investigations pre-proceedings and care proceedings.
  • Proven experience in undertaking comprehensive assessments formulating plans and implementing interventions with children and families.


Please note:

  • You should be able to provide proof towards your right to work in UK Enhanced DBS 5 Year Work Reference SWE registration and HCPC registration to apply for this role.
