Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides leadership in promoting excellence in the delivery of relevant nursing services through the application of advanced knowledge of nursing care research methodologies evidence based practice and program evaluation. The CNS addresses key clinical issues and program priorities by participating in and directing clinical practice consultation education research support of systems and professional leadership.
The CNS participates in the planning implementation and evaluation of new clinical and educational programs and will champion clinic wide continuous quality improvement health education and care within the scope of nursing practice.
Qualifications
Education
- Masters of Nursing (a combination of Bachelors of Nursing with additional relevant certification/qualifications may be considered)
- Membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
Skills Expertise and Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience relevant to the position
- A minimum of three (3) years experience working in a community health setting
- Current CPR Certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Community EMR/Accuro and eChart
