Summary
A Utility Worker is responsible for ensuring that buildings and the areas surrounding them are clean well-lit functional and safe. To this end a Utility Worker job description may include the following duties:
Essential Duties:
- Clean treatment areas as needed (door pits tank farms and drip pads)
- Stack and organize lumber stock as needed.
- Maintain all areas of the plant clear of excessive wood and debris.
- Ensure grass areas are kept free of debris.
- Sweep walk-paths and empty all garbage bins throughout the plant.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as directed.
- Maintain the supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.
- Follow all health and safety rules.
Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter and work independentlywith limited supervision.
- Proven working experience performing cleaning and upkeep tasks.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Have a good working knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety practices
- Must be able to read speak and comprehend English language.
Education and/or Experience:
High school degree required
Tractor experience preferred
Forklift experience preferred
