Join Medtronic Italys Value Access & Policy team where your work will accelerate access to Medtronics life-changing therapies. You will support the development and execution of Market Access strategies for breakthrough technologies across multiple Operating Units. This role is critical in shaping how therapies are funded adopted and integrated into the healthcare system working closely with national and regional stakeholders to overcome access barriers and enhance care delivery.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Support the development and execution of market access and reimbursement plans to facilitate the availability of Medtronic therapies within the Italian healthcare system
- Contribute to the identification of access barriers and support the design of initiatives such as pay-for-performance models or local pilot projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales Marketing Market Development Government Affairs) to ensure alignment and learn how access strategies support business goals
- Assist the EMEA Health Economics Policy and Reimbursement (HEPR) teams in gathering local data and shaping the value proposition of therapies
- Participate in meetings with regional health authorities and administrative stakeholders supporting the co-creation of sustainable access solutions
- Help provide access and reimbursement insights to internal teams and assist in the preparation of training materials
- Support the planning and monitoring of key Market Access projects contributing to coordination activities and tracking of outcomes.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Masters degree in scientific disciplines (e.g. Biomedical Engineering Pharmacy) or a postgraduate degree in Health Economics Market Access or related fields
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Market Access Reimbursement Health Policy or a related role within the healthcare or life sciences industry
- Understanding of the Italian National Health System (NHS) architecture including hospital funding and reimbursement mechanisms
- Business acumen
- Problem-solving and a result-oriented approach
- Good communication and influencing skills
- Fluency in Italian and English
- Travelling up to 60%.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in engaging with regional healthcare authorities and stakeholders and is eager to develop knowledge in health economic principles and innovative access models such as outcome-based contracting. A basic understanding of national Market Access frameworks and healthcare policies is appreciated as well as any prior experience such as internships or academic projects in MedTech or other regulated healthcare sectors. Curiosity strong communication skills and a flexible proactive mindset will be key to growing and succeeding in this role.
