Job Description
Title: Agriculture Assistant
Location: Leamington Ontario Canada
Role:
The Agriculture Assistant is responsible for supporting activities of the Heinz Seed breeding program located in Leamington Ontario including but not limited to seeding transplanting plot upkeep field sampling/data collection seed harvesting hybrid crossing and other seasonal and general duties in the Leamington winter greenhouse.
Benefits:
- $22.00 CAD Hourly
- Paid holidays
Responsibilities:
- Perform greenhouse crop upkeep task including pruning clipping and tying up of plants.
- Assist in tomato hybrid crossing in the greenhouse and field
- Assist in seasonal operational tasks such as seeding transplanting weed control picking tomatoes for testing and seed data collection.
- Assist in special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Agriculture experience is an asset
- Computer skills including a knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to analyze solve problems organize communicate effectively perform duties as requested and work as a team are required in this position.
- Possess an extreme level of detail and accuracy
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time under different weather conditions.
- Must have valid drivers license (full license)
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
