Job Description

Introduction

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control protects and manages the states natural resources protects public health provides outdoor recreational opportunities and educates Delawareans about the environment. The marketing specialist is part of the Office of Communications which executes a comprehensive marketing communication strategy to advance the Departments mission to protect Delawares environment for current and future generations. Summary Statement

The full-time marketing specialist supports the enterprise marketing communications strategy in digital and print channels for the Department and its divisions. This professional is responsible for project management and execution of advertising digital marketing and social media campaigns to include developing content scheduling emails and posts monitoring comments and responses tracking analytics and producing relevant performance reports. This professional will also conduct marketing research plan media buys create presentations and provide in-person events support. This job is available for hybrid work.

Essential Functions

Identifies channels of promotion distribution or advertising of products or services.
Conducts market research through studies or surveys to target specific groups determines the effectiveness of marketing activities recommends enhancements or refines marketing strategies.
Analyzes data to identify customer needs and buying habits potential customers future marketing trends or market expansion.
Studies and collects data on economic social and political factors affecting markets.
Maintains awareness of competitors and positioning of new products or services to be competitive.
Writes edits and distributes marketing or advertising materials including publications newsletters pamphlets brochures and other promotional activities.
Represents the agency in marketing or advertising activities such as meetings press conferences or other promotional events.
Prepares a variety of reports.
May manage contracts with service providers or vendors.
May conduct training sessions related to marketing functions.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Marketing Specialist II
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

Three years experience in creating and editing marketing or advertising materials such as publications newsletters pamphlets or brochures.
Six months experience in marketing products or services by identifying channels of promotion distribution and advertising.
Six months experience in interpreting laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures.
Six months experience in narrative report writing.
Knowledge of conducting market research through studies and surveys to make recommendations.
Knowledge of developing and implementing marketing strategies.

Additional Posting Information

The State of Delaware recognizes the value oftelework and flexible working position is eligible for Alternative Work Schedules according to the State of Delawares Alternative Work Arrangement Policy. More information will be shared at the time of interview.

This position will have Statewide responsibilities which requires travel throughout the State. The State of Delaware provides transportation services to State agencies.
