Job Description

PARENT CHILD PLUS HOME VISITOR/ PLAY GROUP FACILITATOR (GRANT FUNDED/CONDITIONAL ON GRANT FUNDING)

Job Description: Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitator

Applicants preferably live in Lowell and reflect the cultural background and linguistic diversity of the city. They visit toddler and young preschool homes with books and educational toys on a twice-weekly basis to engage families and their young children in positive interactions to facilitate learning.

Full time Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitator visits twelve (12) families twice-weekly for one half hour. All home visits follow a preset model established by the Parent Child Plus national model using curriculum designed specifically for children in Lowell. Full-time Parent Child Plus Home Visitors/ Play Group Facilitators lead one/two playgroups in the community on a weekly basis and staff community outreach events three (3) to five (5) times per year or facilitate parent education trainings.

Part-time Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitator applicants preferably live in Lowell and reflect the cultural background and linguistic diversity of the city.

Part-time Parent Child Plus Home Visitor/ Play Group Facilitators visit six (6) to eight (8) families twice weekly for one half hour. All home visits follow a preset model established by the Parent Child Plus national model using curriculum designed specifically for children in Lowell. Parent Child Plus Home Visitors/ Play Group Facilitators support outreach events three (3) to five times (5) per year and aid in facilitating parent education trainings.

Duties and responsibilities:

Attend weekly staff meeting.
Maintain sign in sheets for all playgroups and community events.
Must complete Ages and Stages Questionnaires twice per year for all families participating in Parent Child Plus; and encourage playgroup families to complete questionnaire on a voluntary basis twice per year.
Share parenting information and community resources with families through playgroups and outreach.
Support families in accessing early childhood programs upon completion of program.
Enter required program data into database.
Complete weekly documentation of home visits required by Parent Child Plus.
Make appropriate referrals to support families.
Prepare materials for home visits and playgroups.
Provide translation as needed.

EFFECTIVE DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: 2025-2026 School Year

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part time; 15 hours per week

RATE OF PAY: $25 per hour
