SALARY

This role is a part of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302 and is paid at $24.00 / hour at the time of hire.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Maintenance Engineer performs building repairs and maintenance tasks in commercial office buildings including basic preventive maintenance to the building structure and systems light maintenance and cleaning.

In addition youll play a key role in driving our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiencyhelping us lead the way in strategic energy practices. If youre passionate about problem-solving and want to grow in this industry we want you on our team!

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on assigned buildings
• Change lighting fixtures
• Order lighting and plumbing equipment and other supplies needed
• Perform odd jobs for tenants (e.g. including moving furniture hanging photos) and other maintenance tasks as directed by work orders
• Participate in the Engineering on-call schedule
• Drives company vehicle as needed

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to work cooperatively
• Proficient in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Some knowledge of basic lighting and plumbing
• Excellent customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Current drivers license required
• Current specialty 07 electrical training card preferred but not required

• Finger Dexterity:Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing picking up small objects or pinching fingers together

• Average Hearing:Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
• Repetitive Motions:Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists hands and/or fingers
• Average Visual Abilities:Average ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery
• Physical Strength:Work requires occasional lifting of 50-75 lbs. and routine lifting of 25 lbs.; ability to maneuver in confined spaces 10% of the time; ability to perform duties at heights 10% of the time

Mental Activities and Requirements of this Position

• Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables
• Mathematics Ability:Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding subtracting multiplying and dividing two digit numbers; to perform the basic arithmetic operations with money; to perform operations with units such as inch foot and yard / ounce and pound
• Language Ability:Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5000-6000 words; ability to read at a slow rate; ability to define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning spelling and pronunciation
