Job Title: Program Coordinator of the Nagel Institute
Department: Nagel Institute for the Study of World Christianity
Reports to: Director of the Nagel Institute
Status: Part-time Non-exempt.
SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator operationalizes the vision plans and research directives from the Nagel Institute Director playing a key role in the management promotion and execution of multiple Nagel projects and budgets. Along with providing key support for the Nagel Institute Director additional areas of responsibility include grant management and close work with international partners to promote the Nagel Institute initiatives and priorities.
This gift- and grant-funded position is a .7 FTE position. Moving forward the position is anticipated to be between .5 and .75 FTE with the possibility of moving to full-time (1.0) if more grant funds become available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All the following tasks come in response to directives from and consultation with the Nagel Institutes Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
As funds become available for international conferences the program coordinator would be responsible for hiring and training support staff and for working collaboratively to plan and run these conference.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
This position requires a bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in coordinating international or academic projects.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
This position requires strong abilities to interact with people from diverse cultures effectively by seeking to understand their perspectives and customs. Must possess strong abilities to foster meaningful connections and enhance partnerships. This position also requires the ability to maintain confidentiality.
COMPLEXITY
This position requires the ability and skill to solve problems creatively and communicate problems effectively to the Director. It also requires the ability to work in a variety of international settings.
ACCOUNTABILITY
This position has authority to frame and develop courses of action in communication with the Director and according to broad directives for projects involving agents from across university departments and from other institutions.
DECISION MAKING/JUDGMENT
This position requires independent judgment in setting priorities and organizing work to accomplish results within the context of approved program goals budget and communication with the Director as needed.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position requires independent operational work and regular communication with the Director employees and partners worldwide to foster teamwork. Must work closely with the Director to effectively set goals resolve problems and make decisions collaboratively to support the mission of the Nagel Institute.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is mainly performed within the Universitys routine office conditions. It may also require travel to majority world nations two or more times a year. Conditions during international travel and onsite could be less comfortable or secure than the routine office setting.
