Job Description
This position is an essential part of Sherwins distribution network. They supervise the picking receiving and storage of merchandise in our warehouse. They provide direct management of warehouse employees and leads and are accountable for fostering a team environment through effective and appropriate communication. They are responsible for maintaining all standards in accordance with safety quality inventory and productivity levels as well as providing leadership to meet facility goals in the 5 focus areas of Operational Excellence including Safety Quality People Service and Cost.
3rd Shift: Monday - Friday: 11:00 pm to 7:00 am
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Companys staff employees and business relationships.
Responsibilities
- Oversee receiving shipping warehousing and picking operations
- Implement operational policies and procedures
- Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment
- Monitor quality and productivity to ensure service and cost objectives are met
- Plan the daily work schedule by coordinating with outside vendors and internal departments
- Manage employee training development performance management and corrective action
- Conduct regular communication meetings with workforce to enhance BMS (Business Management System) and Operational Excellence
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing distribution operations function or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Operations function
- Have a bachelors degree or higher in Management Engineering Business Administration Operations or Supply Chain
- Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating mobile power equipment such as lift trucks tow motors or pallet handling equipment order pickers high lifts forklifts or cherry pickers
- Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s) supervising others or leading teams
- Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma 5-S Lean Manufacturing Transactional Lean etc.
- Have at least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
- Have prior work experience using timekeeping and/or warehouse management systems
