Job Description

Description of Work

The Correction Enterprise Supervisor II position () at the Columbus Sewing Plant is responsible for training offenders in the safe proper and most efficient operation of equipment and practices utilized in a sewing manufacturing operation while ensuring quality and quantity standards in accordance with applicable laws policies and regulations. This employee will organize and direct work assignments of offenders and set up of equipment for processing of raw materials. The employee will prepare a variety of written reports involving subjects such as inventory levels equipment specifications offender incidents incentive wage payroll and production schedules. The work environment may involve exposure to noise dust fumes dangerous machinery chemical body fluids and fallen objects. This may require the use of personal protective equipment (such as ear plugs/muff safety glasses respirators protective clothing etc. and/or personal protective equipment used in sewing operation).


This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and a minimum of two years of related industry/service experience;

or

an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience



Necessary Special Requirements

Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission

Plant Specific Special Requirements
Agriculture - NC Pesticide License and NC Wastewater License
Cannery - Low Acid and Acidified Food Production certification must be obtained within one year of hire
Laundry - Certified Professional Laundry Manager or Certified Laundry and Linen Manager certification
Braille - Certified Braille Transcriber certificate must be obtained within 18 months of hire
