What are we looking for

Through guidance provided by Branch Management and in a safe legal and ethical manner the Inspector performs the necessary volume measurements sampling calculations documentation and reporting which ensure that the customer receives an independent accurate and complete assessment of quantity and quality of material thus supporting the goal of providing a service to our clients that is accurate timely and cost-effective

Shift/Schedule: varying shifts including nights weekends and on call hours

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $18 - $20. Individual compensation packages are on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set experience qualifications and other job-related reasons.

What youll do:

Understand and adhere to Caleb Bretts safety procedures.
Able to perform the below duties by specified methodology in addition to completing the associated paperwork.
Volume measurement temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines shore tanks cars tank trucks barges and ships.
Visual inspections on lines pumps manifolds shore tanks rail cars tank trucks barges and ships.
Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars tank trucks shore tanks barges and ships.
Perform routine equipment calibrations verification and function checks.
Verify and communicate the results obtained and make the entries into the appropriate media whether print or electronic required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information.
Provide on-the-job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors.
To communicate and coordinate with terminal transport and Company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned.
To monitor the availability of the supplies needed for the above processes and to make any needs for such supplies known to the Dispatcher or Coordinator.
To perform routine equipment calibration verification and function checks.
To organize and coordinate jobs so that services are rendered and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
To maintain work areas records and equipment in a clean organized and functional condition.
Willingness to go offshore via boat launch and have ability to climb pilot ladder to inspect vessels.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

Must have a basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment.
Ability to work on an on-call basis.
Cannot have a fear of heights.
Having IFIA certification is a plus! If not certified must be able to pass the exam to obtain certification at 6 months of employment.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
*Valid drivers license and reliable driving record (required)
Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
Good understanding and knowledge of refinery operations relating to inspection activities.
Physical requirements include: Lifting walking standing reaching bending stooping climbing squatting and driving.
General knowledge of computers.
Good written and oral communication skills and team player.
Attention to detail self-motivated good time management skills and prioritization skills.
