Summary:
Were seeking a skilled and customer-focused Horizon VDI Support Specialist to manage support and optimize clients VMware Horizon VDI environment. This role spans Level 1 to Level 3 support and includes maintaining golden images managing desktop pools and collaborating with IT teams to ensure a secure and seamless virtual desktop experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end support for VMware Horizon VDI including access performance printing and profiles.
- Build and maintain golden images (patching configuration and application packaging).
- Create and manage desktop pools (persistent and non-persistent).
- Troubleshoot application issues within VDI sessions.
- Monitor system health analyze performance and apply updates and patches.
- Collaborate with infrastructure application and security teams.
- Document SOPs troubleshooting steps and knowledge base content.
- Support user onboarding and coordinate UAT for image changes.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2 years in IT support with 1 year in VDI environments.
- Experience with VMware Horizon View (7.x/8.x) Windows 10/11 Active Directory and GPOs.
- Familiarity with Horizon Console vSphere and basic PowerShell scripting.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with golden image optimization FSLogix MFA and monitoring tools (e.g. Horizon Help Desk ControlUp).
- Certifications: VMware VCP-DTM ITIL Foundation CompTIA A (preferred).
