The Opportunity

Our Ranbuild business is looking for a Draftsperson to join the Engineering team based in Hamilton. Ranbuild has been supplying sheds garages and steel buildings for over 70 years specialising in the commercial residential rural and equine markets.

Ranbuild is a market leader in cold rolled pre-engineered buildings (PEBs) and joining us as a Draftsperson means working on a diverse range of projects with customers across this dynamic and autonomous role youll be part of a skilled and supportive team of professionals who are invested in your growth and success.

Youll do more than produce drawings youll work closely with engineers dealers and other key stakeholders to develop practical solutions across all stages of the project lifecycle. It is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety problem-solving and ownership.

What Will You Do

Providing technical guidance to our product development and order fulfilment teams you will grow to be a recognised subject matter expert in our building market sector. Preparing and inspecting manufacturing drawings across our extensive product range supporting both daily project execution and continuous improvement initiatives. You will:

  • produce a wide range of technical drawings as per product specifications ensuring compliance with relevant standards and documentation requirements
  • interpret architectural and engineering plans to accurately capture design intent and support fabrication
  • liaise with internal stakeholders including engineers sales and estimators to resolve drawing or specification issues and ensure timely delivery of projects
  • provide quoting detailing Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation and recommend improvements to existing designs and installation processes
  • conduct quality assurance checks maintain version control and support the integrity of our document management systems
  • be involved in end-to-end drafting for diverse projects applying your skills to develop practical and effective design solutions

More About You

We are looking for someone who brings both technical capability and a collaborative mindset. Ideally you will have:

  • experience in a high-volume fast-paced drafting environment with the ability to work autonomously
  • experience with the Autodesk suite (especially AutoCAD Revit and Inventor) is highly regarded
  • a tertiary qualification in detail drafting or a related discipline or proven practical experience in a similar drafting role
  • a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality safety and continuous learning
  • effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
