Job Description
Job Summary:
Lehigh Valley Academy is seeking an Instructional Support Teacher for the elementary special education department. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of Special Education teachers to provide in-classroom support and small group instruction for students. This position is full-time and requires a candidate who is flexible and willing to provide coverage for teacher absences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Assist students in the classroom by providing instruction and support during assigned classes.
- Small Group Instruction: Lead small group instruction or testing sessions to reinforce lessons and provide additional support to students who need it.
- Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers to understand lesson plans and instructional goals ensuring seamless support for students.
- Student Assessment: Assist in assessing student progress and providing feedback to classroom teachers to help inform instructional strategies.
- Classroom Management: Help maintain classroom order and discipline following school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Interest in developing a career in education is required.
- Experience working with elementary school students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers staff and students.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs and provide coverage as needed.
